In order to not have your surgery cancelled:
|
|
Plan to arrive at the center one hour and thirty minutes
prior to your surgery unless told otherwise by the surgery
center. You will be meeting with your anesthesiologist and preparing
for your surgery during this time. Check in at the reception desk
upon arrival and you will be directed from there. Please
remember your insurance card and drivers license.
|
|
Please do not bring valuables with you to the center. Do
not wear jewelry or hair ornaments. Jewelry poses a safety
hazard and the potential for loss.
|
|
We
recommend you stop taking any anti-inflammatory medications 2 weeks
before your surgery. ALWAYS confirm this with your surgeon. This
includes Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Naprosyn, Voltaren,
etc. Notify us of any other medications you may be taking including
homeopathic remedies. |
|
DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT. THIS INCLUDES
WATER, GUM OR CANDY. IF YOU DO YOUR SURGERY WILL BE CANCELLED.
|
|
Upon
discharge from the center You must have a ride home. You
cannot leave alone. If you are taking a taxi or public
transportation you must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
|
|
You may expect a call from a nurse prior to surgery to confirm your
surgery and your health history. If you are 65 or over, have a history
of asthma requiring daily medication, hypertension, heart disease,
sleep apnea, obesity or diabetes, you must have a recent
physical examination & EKG from your primary care physician.
This should be faxed to the surgery center prior to surgery. (fax
# 415-474-1365).
|
|
Please remember that most insurance plans have a co-insurance and/or
deductible. We make every attempt to estimate your final portion
of the bill prior to your surgery. We will require payment of your
portion on the date of service. We do take credit cards. Your final
bill cannot be calculated until the procedure has been completed
and we know the exact final procedures performed.
